Now that everything is in place, all we need to do is fill in a few of the blanks. After finishing with the New Connection Wizard, you should be sent back to the Dial-Up Networking window, which will have a new "Spectranet" icon. Click on that with the right mouse button, and select "Properties" from the menu that pops up.
In the window that opens (shown at right), turn off "Use country code and area code". This will prevent Windows from adding any unwanted digits to the number it dials, and from mistakenly making long-distance calls). Then click the "Server Types" button at the bottom (in newer versions of Windows 95 and in Windows 98, it is a tab the top).
In the next window (shown below), ensure that the "Type of Dial-Up Server" is set to PPP, and uncheck all of the options and protocols but the two shown ("Enable Software Compression" and "TCP/IP"). Then click on "TCP/IP Settings".
In this window (at right), check "Specify Name Server Addresses", and fill in the Primary and Secondary fields exactly as shown here. If the DNS numbers are entered incorrectly, you may not be able to find any Internet addresses later on! (Leave the WINS entries as zeroes, and leave all other options at their defaults.)
We have now finished setting up the Dial-Up Connection, so press "OK" in each window until you get back to Dial-Up Networking. And finally ....
